Citric Acid Anhydrous E330, 12 – 40 Mesh – Coarse-grained, highly pure citric acid
Citric acid anhydrous is a highly concentrated, low-moisture form of citric acid used in a wide range of industrial products. It is derived from plant-based raw materials and is valued for its exceptional quality and versatility. Our product is manufactured in one of the largest production facilities in China using state-of-the-art methods, meets the highest quality standards, is GMO-free and characterised by its high purity.
The coarser granulation (12 – 40 mesh) is suitable for applications where uniform distribution and sustained effectiveness are required.
Applications
- Food industry: Used as an acidifier, pH regulator and preservative in solid applications such as effervescent powders, instant products or spice blends where a coarser granulation is beneficial.
- Cosmetics industry: For pH adjustment and stabilisation in solid or semi-solid formulations such as bath bombs, scrubs or powder masks.
- Chemical industry: For the production of chelating agents, pH regulation and as a base substance in various chemical processes.
- Cleaning products industry: An effective descaling agent in household and industrial cleaning powders.
- Water treatment: For pH regulation and as part of disinfection and descaling processes.
For applications that require faster solubility, we also offer citric acid anhydrous in a finer 30 – 80 mesh granulation, which is ideal for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
What is the difference between Citric Acid Anhydrous 12 – 40 Mesh and the 30 – 80 Mesh variant?
The difference lies in the particle size. 12 – 40 mesh is a coarser granulation than 30 – 80 mesh. The advantage of the coarser grade is that it is less prone to clumping during storage. However, for processes requiring precise dosing, the finer 30 – 80 mesh granulation is more suitable.
How does Citric Acid Anhydrous differ from Citric Acid Monohydrate?
The main difference between the two forms is their moisture content. Citric acid anhydrous is virtually free of water (moisture content ≤ 0.5 %) and is therefore more concentrated than citric acid monohydrate, which contains approximately 7.5 – 8.8 % bound water of crystallisation. As it introduces no additional moisture into formulations, the anhydrous form is particularly well-suited to applications requiring precise moisture control – for example in dry blends, anhydrous formulations or moisture-sensitive products. This can enhance the stability and shelf life of final products.
Storage Advice
Citric acid should be stored in a dry place at room temperature.
