Carnauba wax type 1 is the highest quality of carnauba wax. It is obtained from the unopened buds of the Carnauba palm and therefore has a light and pure yellow color. The smell is Carnauba typically vegetable and very pleasant.
Use of carnauba wax:
Carnauba wax is the highest melting natural wax with a melting point of more than 80 °C. It is very hard when melted but very thin, making it an ideal wax for various special applications. Carnauba wax is traditionally used in care products because it mixes well with liquids such as oils and forms a hard, polishable mass. Very high quality car polishes contain carnauba wax; it can be used as well for polishes for musical instruments or shoe care products.
In addition to its use in technical applications, carnauba wax is an ideal brightener for sweets, for example. Many products such as gummy bears are glazed with it. They receive shine and the protective surface prevents premature melting or sticking together. Carnauba wax is also used in the coating of fruit, as it is approved for direct use in glazing of food.
From a delivery quantity of 25 kg, the manufacturer guarantees food suitability in accordance with E 903.
Carnauba wax is also the basis of many cosmetic formulations. It is contained in lipsticks, mascara and other solid cosmetics to give the formulations a good consistency.
