Carnauba wax type 3, flakes
Carnauba wax Type 3 is a high quality carnauba wax. It is extracted from the open leaves of the Carnauba palm and has a yellowish to slightly ochre-like colour. The smell is Carnauba typically plant-like and very pleasant.
Use of carnauba wax:
Carnauba wax is the highest melting natural wax with a melting point of more than 80 °C. It is very hard when melted but very thin, making it an ideal wax for various special applications.
Carnauba wax has been and still is used in polishes, for example. Carnauba wax is also used in products such as special inks or paints. For use in food it is important that the product used meets the purity requirements of E 903. Type 3 - just like Type 1 - can also be used for the coating of food, but with Type 3 in particular it must be ensured that the acid number corresponds to the food regulations.
