Spooled candle wick, round wick BWR
This wick was developed to achieve an optimal burning behaviour with bee waxes and vegetable waxes. It is a unwaxed, unbleached round wick made from cotton, which is particularly suitable for low-melting natural waxes such as our rapeseed-coconut wax blends NatureWax® Elite 600, NatureWax® 660-55M or soy wax NatureWax® C-1, NatureWax® C-3. The wick material is not treated with borax and tested according to RAL standards.
The BWR candle wick is the answer to the consistency of vegetable waxes, which makes it particularly difficult to find suitable wicks. We also offer the candle wick BWR as waxed single wicks, with metal base in lengths of 10 cm. The round wick BWR combines all properties for a good and even burning behaviour and also works with a wide variety of raw material mixtures. The wick has a good wick stand and forms little to no slugs. The wicks are manufactured in Germany.
Usage
This wick material must be waxed before it is actually used as a wick. When cutting the individual wicks, please pay attention to the direction of the wick (head inside = K.i. or head outside = K.a.) and mark the lower or upper end, e.g. with a red marker. Alternatively, you can also attach a metal base to the lower end of the wick, this also ensures a safe stand when making candles in containers. Now place the candle wick in the mould and then pour the wax into the mould. Wax adhesive plates for candles can be used to prevent the wick from moving during production.
Versions
We offer the candle wick in 4 varieties:
- BWR 2: For candles up to approx. 2 cm Ø
- BWR 4: For candles up to approx. 4 cm Ø
- BWR 7: For candles up to approx. 7 cm Ø
- BWR 9: For candles up to approx. 9 cm Ø

Note
Spooled wicks with direction cannot be used to pull candles. There are many factors that have an influence on the burning behaviour of a candle. The main ones include the type of wax, the melting point of the wax, the thickness of the candle, and the addition of colour and scents. Test your candle project with our wicks before ordering a large number of wicks.
