Rose wax
Rose wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the petals of the Damask rose. It is one of the most luxurious waxes in the world and is used to further enhance high-quality products. Rose wax is known for its delicate, floral fragrance, which is typical of roses. The wax is a pure vegetable wax and therefore a possible vegan alternative to the commonly known beeswax.
Applications
Rose wax has a medium melting range of 57 - 64°C and is mainly used in the manufacture of natural cosmetic products. It is particularly popular in soaps and lip care products, where its consistency-giving and moisturising properties are used. In lower concentrations, it is also used in lotions and creams, as it strengthens the skin barrier and thus prevents the loss of moisture. Rose wax can be used in all types of cosmetic applications in emulsions and anhydrous systems. We recommend using no more than 5 % in soaps and lip care products. Approx. 0.1-0.5 % is sufficient for the production of hair conditioners. In addition to its nourishing properties, the rose wax gives the end products a pleasant scent of rose petals. It can also be used as an ingredient in the production of luxurious scented candles.
Notes
Rose wax should be stored dry, cool and protected from light.
