EVA Ethylene-vinyl acetate granules
EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate - a robust plastic consisting of ethylene and vinyl acetate. EVA can be used as an additive to change the properties of other substances such as waxes, plastics or adhesives. When heated, the compound melts and becomes easily mouldable. Since EVA is thermoplastic, the material can theoretically be melted and deformed as often as desired. The properties and uses of EVA depend on the proportion of vinyl acetate. In this product, the proportion of vinyl acetate is 10 - 14 %. The material is a fine granulate with a dropping point of 96 - 104 °C. Thanks to its resistance, it remains in its soft form for a very long time despite UV light, weather and heat and hardly becomes brittle.
Applications
EVA wax is a versatile material with a wide range of applications. In the adhesives industry it is used as a lubricant, dispersant and to adjust viscosity. In the plastics industry it is used as a masterbatch or plastic additive to modify the properties of plastics. It can also be used as a dispersant in paints and coatings to prevent pigments from settling. Due to its soft texture and melting properties, EVA wax can also be used as an additive in candle making to increase elasticity and thus reduce brittleness.
Hinweise
The material is considered food safe(limitations and migration values in the end use must be observed!).
