EcoOlive PillarBlend
EcoOlive is a 100% natural blend of predominantly olive wax with natural additives to improve burn and fragrance. This candle wax blend has been developed for the production of pillar candles, votive candles and other free standing candles. EcoOlive is biodegradable, vegan friendly and does not contain palm or paraffin products. EcoOlive provides excellent fragrance release and gives candles a smooth surface finish with a subtle gloss. This wax has a melting point of approx. 62 °C and a solidification point of approx. 55 °C. With the appropriate wick, the wax has a good and low-soot burn. We recommend round wicks for natural waxes such as our BWR series.
Application
We recommend heating the wax indirectly in a water bath slowly until it is liquid. To do this, heat a pot with a little water. The wax is then melted in a metal bowl or a second pot in the water bath. This method ensures even melting and prevents the wax from overheating. For candle dyes the wax should be heated to about 75 °C. Next, add the colourant and mix until it has dissolved. The fragrance should be added according to the fragrance manufacturer's instructions. The liquid wax can then be poured into the mould. Depending on the size and shape of the candle to be made, the wax should have a temperature of about 65 °C when poured. For best results, the moulds should be at least room temperature, although preheating the moulds to approx. 45 - 50 °C can be advantageous. EcoOlive is formulated so that only one pour is required. However, for larger candles, re-pouring may be necessary to achieve an optimal candle surface. The candles should stand undisturbed at room temperature for 48 hours before use.
Further information
Wax should be stored dry, cool and protected from light. If the wax is exposed to high temperatures (> 90 °C) for too long, it can lead to discolouration of the wax.
