Candle Gel

Candle gel or gel wax is a transparent wax that can be used to make fantastic gel candles. This special wax is ideal for moulding candles in various shapes and designs. The jelly-like consistency gives the candles a unique texture and clarity that allows the light to shine through beautifully. The candle wax is produced in Germany and has a solidification point of 60 - 75 °C.

Application

Candle gel is usually heated indirectly in a water bath at approx. 90 °C. A pot is heated with a little water. The wax is then melted in a metal bowl or a second pot in the water bath. This method ensures even melting and prevents the wax from overheating. The wax can be combined with candle colours and dyes. The candle gel is also suitable for moulding in small objects such as shells.

We recommend using our Gel wax with suitable wicks such as our round wick RD 4 and round wick BWR 4.

Notes

Candle gel should be stored sealed, dry and protected from light at temperatures up to max. 30°C. The wax should not be heated above 100 °C. Burning behaviour of Gel wax is different to that of Paraffin wax, it may lead to slight sooting when lighting.

Melting range: Above 80 °C
