Las Minute Christmasgift idea // scented ornaments with natural wax

You still need last minute Christmas gifts? How about wonderful wintry scented ornaments made from high quality natural wax?

This last minute Christmas decoration to make yourself not only smells really good, but also looks beautiful on the Christmas tree! In smaller shapes, you can also make really cute scented gift tags yourself.

We show you in our YouTube tutorial how you can make wonderful scented wax sachets yourself with our products. You can find the written instructions here:

First, make sure you line the work area with a towel or similar.

Have everything you need ready for your scent ornaments:

Rapeseed Coconut Wax 660-55M

Scent (we use Vanilla Nuts)

Wax color (we use our new color Berry)

You will also need:

Water bath/ simmer pot

thermometer

something to stir

(fine) scales

ornament molds

1. melting

First you melt the rapeseed coconut wax in a water bath or simmer pot. For this, heat the wax to 60 to max 80°C. While melting, stir regularly and slowly. Be careful not to heat the wax too fast or too hot. Also, make sure that no water gets into the liquid wax!

2. add color (optional)

For coloring we used our new wax colors and weighed out the recommended addition of 0.3%.

It is important to make sure that the wax has a temperature of about 80°C so that the color can really dissolve completely. If the wax in the extra container is too cold, just put it again (briefly!) in the microwave and mix it completely.

3. add scent

Stir your desired fragrance (max. 6%) completely in the liquid wax at approx. 75°C (approx. 3 minutes).

Important: Always color the wax first before adding fragrance.

Caution: Some ingredients of fragrance oils may react with the crystallization of natural waxes.

4. pouring

Slowly reduce the temperature to approx. 60-65°C. It is best to use a thermometer to check here. The environment and molds should not be too cold and the wax should not be too hot.

Do not pour the wax too quickly. Air bubbles can be easily eliminated by tapping the mold lightly on the base in between.

5. hardening

After a few hours, you can remove the ornaments from the mold - be careful and go slowly, because the molds are quite thin.

You can hang the finished ornaments on the Christmas tree or in the closet - or, if you used smaller molds, as gift tags. When the tags are no longer needed on the tree, you can break them and use them in a fragrance lamp as fragrance melts.
